Desautels Graduate Business Technology Club (DBTC)

The Desautels Graduate Business Technology Club is a vibrant student community with the mission of sharing our passion for technology by educating students about the latest technology trends and skills, connecting students with alumni and facilitating recruiting opportunities with hiring managers. We strive to achieve our goals through speaker events, career treks, workshops and networking sessions. We seek to attract students with a wide array of interests as there is a variety of career options for those with non-technical backgrounds in business and technology.

President: Kevin Marsolais

Kevin has a strong interest in how business and technology come together in practical, real-world settings. He is especially curious about how digital tools, data, and emerging technologies can improve decision-making and create value for organizations, whether in finance, operations, or strategy. He enjoys breaking down complex problems and thinking about how technology can be used as a strategic advantage rather than just a technical solution. His key areas of interest are fintech, digital transformation, and how traditional industries adapt to new technologies.

Through the Desautels Business Technology Club, Kevin hopes to learn from other students who share an interest in innovation, while gaining hands-on exposure to how technology is actually applied in business. He is always looking to build new skills, explore different perspectives, and stay up to date on trends shaping the business and tech landscape.

Desautels Graduate Marketing Club (DGMC)

Our mission is to make the club the most valuable platform for students and alumni interested in making a career in the marketing industry. We aim to provide students with resources to gain the marketing know-how and continuous practical engagements to hone their skills. We create opportunities to spark conversations with current students, alumni and faculty to gain clarity on the world of marketing be it current trends, various marketing roles or simply networking. And finally, we aim to foster a community feeling between all our members always providing support, guidance and direction.

President: Nay Ezzedeen

Marketing wasn’t where Nay Ezzedeen thought she’d end up. She started in science, where she learned how to think critically and work with data. Along the way, she realized she was more interested in telling the story behind it rather than focusing only on the science.

So, Nay took marketing classes at UofT, explored retail and luxury through LVMH, worked on freelance projects that helped her build her portfolio, volunteered for DGMC during her first fall semester in the MMR program for a few different events, and here she is now.

That shift changed her path, and it made her excited about helping others see marketing differently too. Nay believes you don’t have to plan a career in marketing to benefit from it. She wants students to feel curious, welcomed, and confident enough to explore it, even if they think their future lies somewhere else. Sometimes the best pivots are the ones you never expected.
